Synopsis

Willow Andrew’s life is a hot mess.

Coming from a family of successful professionals, the fact that at twenty-seven she still doesn’t know what she wants to be when she grows up doesn’t sit well. Desperate not to disappoint her grandmother, she invents a fake boyfriend so Gammy won’t worry so much. It seemed a victimless lie... until Gammy announced that Willow AND her boyfriend needed to be present at her 75th birthday party. Or else. Out of time and options, Willow turns to the sexy bartender she’s been secretly crushing on for help.

Levi Sullivan has his life in order and thrives off helping others.

In fact, he would do anything to help out a friend. But he’s angling for far more than friendship with Willow. Entranced by the clumsy beauty since the first time he watched her trip over nothing, he happily agrees to a chance to spend more time with her. Fake romance or not, he’s determined to use their long-distance road trip to turn a game of pretend into something more.

Warning—the roads ahead will twist and turn with laugh-out loud moments and sizzling chemistry. But traffic should be aware, the journey ahead is far more important than the destination.

My Thoughts

TEST DRIVE is a fun romantic comedy and third book of the RoadTripping series.
I just love the fake romance trope, so when you add a road trip and a few sing-alongs, this makes for a delightful read. I could feel the goofiest grin on my face as I read it.

Levi and Willow have a secret fondness for the each other and the opportunity to spend a week together convincing Willow's family they were a couple, honestly there wasn't much faking it. When they decided that they needed to "practice" kissing, you knew that the play acting was over and this was about to get so real.

There was silliness that took place while visiting Gammy and all of her "in the bedroom" talk, it was enough to make you blush. And the ROMEOS protectiveness over Willow and their attempts to give advice to Levi was endearing.

TEST DRIVE just made me feel good while reading it. I do wish that there had been more actual road trip adventures, but I enjoyed all of the getting to know each other moments that it was still just as satisfying. All in all, TEST DRIVE is a great summer read!

Happy Singles Day by Ann Marie Walker
Releasing January 19, 2021
from Sourcebooks Casablanca

Single and proud of it! Oh, oops...

As a Certified Professional Organizer, everything in Paige Parker's world is as it should be. Perfect apartment, perfect office, perfect life. And now, the perfect vacation planned to honor Singles Day. After all, what's better than celebrating her pride in being single? Because who needs a man anyway? They have zero taste in quality television, leave the toilet seat up, and sleep with your best friend. No thanks. Her life is fine just the way it is.

As the owner of a now-dormant bed & breakfast, Lucas Croft's life is simple and quiet. It's only him and his five-year-old daughter, which is just the way he likes it. Because who needs a woman anyway? They nag you to clean up your stuff, want the toilet seat put down, and expect the dishes to be done the same day the meal is cooked. No thanks. His life is fine just the way it is.

But when Paige books a room that Lucas' well-intentioned sister listed without his knowledge, their two worlds collide. If they can survive the week together, they just might discover exactly what they've both been missing.
