Waiting on Wednesday - The Selection

"Waiting On" Wednesday is a weekly event, hosted by Jill at Breaking the Spine, that spotlights upcoming releases that we're eagerly anticipating.

This week's pre-publication "can't-wait-to-read" selection is:

The Selection
by Kiera Cass
Published by Harper Teen
Publication Date: April 24, 2012

For thirty-five girls, the Selection is the chance of a lifetime. The opportunity to escape the life laid out for them since birth. To be swept up in a world of glittering gowns and priceless jewels. To live in the palace and compete for the heart of the gorgeous Prince Maxon.

But for America Singer, being Selected is a nightmare. It means turning her back on her secret love with Aspen, who is a caste below her. Leaving her home to enter a fierce competition for a crown she doesn't want. Living in a palace that is constantly threatened by violent rebel attacks.
Then America meets Prince Maxon. Gradually, she starts to question all the plans she's made for herself- and realizes that the life she's always dreamed of may not compare to a future she never imagined.

I have wanted to share that I have been waiting on this title for a while and now that Kiera Cass has released finally revealed the cover art on her blog, I can. I expect to see a lot of people waiting on The Selection this week. Who can resist a story about identity and expectations, filled with love and conflict? Not me.

  5. Oh, love this cover. I am almost always sold by covers, and premises of course. So this looks intriguing as it sounds.

  6. When will this pick get old for me? Possibly never. This cover is just too great to regret seeing all the time.
