"Waiting On" Wednesday is a weekly event, hosted by Jill at Breaking the Spine, that spotlights upcoming releases that we're eagerly anticipating.
This week's pre-publication "can't-wait-to-read" selection is:
Racing Savannah
by Miranda Kenneally
Publication Date: December 3, 2013
Published by Sourcebooks Fire
(from Goodreads)
Author of Catching Jordan, Miranda Kenneally’s Racing Savannah, about an underprivileged girl training to be a jockey while working in the barn at a high-stakes horse farm whose on-again, off-again relationship with the owner’s son has an upstairs/downstairs effect on race day.
Why I'm Waiting:
I was a little late to the game (or it felt that way, at least) with reading Catching Jordan and Stealing Parker and I just loved those stories and couldn't believe that I held on them for so long before I read them. I love how Miranda Kenneally's characters make appearances in the other Hundred Oaks books, but they are not part of a series. Companion novels are the best. I still have Things I Can't Forget to read, and then Racing Savannah!!
And just yesterday Miranda shared the first chapter on her blog.
YES! Love Miranda Kenneally's books and I am looking forward to the fourth in her Hundred Oaks series too! You should pick up Things I Can't Forget soon, I think it's the best she's written yet:) GREAT pick, Joli!
ReplyDeleteDid you read the excerpt for Racing Savannah that Kenneally posted yesterday? Here's the link:)

My WoW
I do have it, I just haven't read it yet. I'm trying to catch up and only read review or book club books this month, BUT I will get to it asap!
DeleteAnd I did see the excerpt! I can't wait for all of it!
Wonderful pick for this week, enjoy! :)
ReplyDeleteNew follower via bloglovin! Here is my WoW!
thanks for the bloglovin follow. I was afraid I'd lose some followers when Google reader goes away.
DeleteIf Racing Savannah is anything like her other books, we are in for a great time!
I keep meaning to pick up her books. I love the covers (this one, especially, love those yellow boots!), but other books just keep getting in the way. This does look like a great read.
ReplyDeleteI'm a new follower. If you'd like to follow back, I'd really appreciate it! Here's my WoW
I know exactly what you mean about other books "getting in the way" - that was what happened with me. But I finally decided to read them and I loved them so much that I would've read them sooner (even with all of the other books).
DeleteWell how awesome are you for giving us the first chapter! I've read a lot of reviews of Things I Can't Forget, all good. I haven't read my copy of Catching Jordan yet. I know you won't be surprised. You'll be disgusted when you see my bookshelves now. Can't wait to see you in a few months! Don't forget your books you want signed! Pack those first!
ReplyDeleteLOL
Heather
I'm gonna go read that chapter now!
READ THOSE BOOKS! They are so entertaining that you will be through with them in no time.
