Synopsis
As a kid, Logan Preston was a brat.
Through his teens, he became the bad boy.
Now, at nineteen, no one knows what the hell to expect.
***
High school dropout, Logan Preston is a
good-for-nothing stoner.
A black sheep.
A disappointment.
The worst Preston Punk of the lot.
At least that’s how everyone in his small town
makes him feel.
But Logan Preston has secrets.
Secrets so dark and so deep below the surface that the only way he can fight them is to stay high, high, high.
He wears cockiness as a mask.
Arrogance as his armor.
Until one girl, one night, asks one life-changing question:
What's beneath the bravado, Logan Preston?

My Thoughts

LOGAN is one of those books that make me continuously take a pause and think, Oh my, I love this book. I would read some more, pause and think, I just love Aubrey, and read some more. Another pause, I love Logan and his stupid heart. Read some more, please let their love last. You get the picture. And immediately I upon finishing, I was just overcome with emotion and how much I cared about these characters that I wished that I could read it again for the first time to experience these emotions for the first time.

I was overjoyed with how Logan and Aubrey fall so deeply in love with each other. They crave each other and allow them to enjoy their happiness. But of course, it isn’t all joy and happiness. Logan has some demons that are haunting him and it hurt my heart to watch as he dealt with them and how it affected him and his relationships with Aubrey and with his family.

I’m so glad that, like in LUCAS, the family is an integral part of the story. Lachlan steals the show as he becomes a fixture in Aubrey’s life, and his relationship with Logan is special because of their closeness and admiration for each other. And then there is Mr. Tom Preston. I just love him and how he exhibits the father's love for his son; a father's love for his children and they people they love. And the The Friday Night Lights comparison is spot on!

Favorite Moment: When Aubrey and Logan share when they knew they were in love with the other.

Laughable Quote (and so true): “Social media is the place where hope goes to die.” - Aubrey

I really can’t get over just how much I loved this book. LOGAN is a new favorite. Just beautiful.
