#ForeverSummerReading: THE GOOD LUCK CHARM by Helena Hunting - Guest Post and Giveaway

I'm holding onto summer for as long as I can. One way to do that is with Summer Reading. Forever Romance has so many books to choose from! Right now I have my eyes on FROM HERE TO YOU, DON'T CLOSE YOUR EYES, and THE GOOD LUCK CHARM, but I know I'll want to read them all.

THE GOOD LUCK CHARM published on August 7, 2018.
Genre: Romance / Fiction / Romance / Contemporary
Pages: 384

About the Book:

Lilah isn’t sure what hurt worse: the day Ethan left her to focus on his hockey career or the day he came back eight years later. He might think they can pick up just where they left off, but she’s no longer that same girl and never wants to be again.

Ethan wants his glory days back. And that includes having Lilah by his side. With her, he was magic. They were magic. All he has to do is make her see that.

Just when Lilah might finally be ready to let Ethan in, though, she finds out their reunion might have nothing to do with love and everything to do with improving his game. But Ethan’s already lost her once, and even if it costs him his career, he’ll do anything to keep from losing her again.

“Fabulously fun! Lilah and Ethan’s second-chance romance charmed me from the first page to the swoon-worthy end.” -Jill Shalvis, New York Times bestselling author

Helena Hunting Shares What's in Her Beach Bag
I grew up going to the cottage on Loon Lake in Ontario, Canada. It’s north of Muskoka, which means nothing to most people unless you live in Toronto and you have some idea how far it is from civilization. Even now I only get one bar on my phone, although if I stand like a flamingo on the edge of the deck where the 12-foot drop is, I may get two bars for approximately 1.25 seconds.
In addition to being well removed from humanity, there are 111 steps down to the lake. It’s a lot of steps. Enough that I (along with everyone else) pack a beach bag very carefully prior to our decent to the dock.
What’s in my beach bag you ask?
  1. Enough liquid to last me the next three hours: at least one bottle of water and a bottle of wine, plus ice cubes in a plastic tumbler with a lid. Because wine.
  2. Sunscreen. It doesn’t matter how far north you are, you’ll burn if you sit in direct sunlight for several hours at a time. And let’s face it, the plan is to sit in direct sunlight for as long as humanly possible on the dock days of summer.
  3. My paperback copy of Archer’s Voice by Mia Sheridan, with all my favourite parts earmarked so I don’t have to work to read the sections I adore. Do not bring an electronic reading device to the dock unless you plan to use it to kill dock spiders. The cracks between the boards are three times the width of a Kindle and if it ends up between the cracks, you’re never getting it back.
  4. A portable speaker with your fun summer playlist so you can relax and read your book with a beach-inspired soundtrack in the background. I love listening to bands like The Tragically Hip or artists like Ben Howard and Ruelle when I’m on the dock, relaxing and reading.
  5. Snacks. If you’re spending hours on the dock and it’s a full mile uphill to get back to the cottage for food (I might be exaggerating on the distance, but after two glasses of wine, 200 feet of elevation seems a lot like a mile), then you need to bring along something to snack on, like Doritos or Funyons. Or if you’re feeling particularly summery and health-conscious you could bring a fruit platter, which is also useful for making sangria.

#ForeverSummerReading: BAD FOR YOU by J. Daniels - Guest Post and Giveaway

There are so many great books coming out this summer from Forever Romance and I want to read ALL OF THEM, but when will I find the time? Oh, what a terrible problem to have.

Featured this month in the #ForeverSummerReading event are Nicole Jacquelyn, J. Daniels, Megan Erickson, Sara Richardson, and Amy Jarecki.

BAD FOR YOU by J. Daniels is at the TOP of my TBR pile because sometimes you just need some naughty in your life. AND I'm even more excited about reading BAD FOR YOU because I'll get to see J. Daniels next week at BOOK BONANZA and celebrate her new book with her!

BAD FOR YOU (Dirty Deeds, #3) will release on July 17, 2018.
Genre: Romance / Fiction / Romance / Contemporary
Pages: 400

About the Book:

He didn’t want to be bad. He just didn’t have a choice…
Shayla Perkins isn’t the kind of girl who makes the same mistake twice, especially when it comes to Sean “Stitch” Molina. So when he gives her the world’s biggest rejection, that’s it–she’s done. Until the sexy, silent, unavailable Sean makes Shay a very personal offer. Of course, it still doesn’t mean he’s interested in her. Or does it?

Sean has done things in life. Bad things. And he’s paid the price. All he wants now is to make up for his past by doing good in the present. And no one deserves more good than Shay. Beautiful on the inside and out, Shay is the kind of woman who should be cared for and protected–especially from a man like Sean. He’s tried to keep his feelings for her in check, but a single, reckless impulse pulls them closer than ever before.

Soon the two are sharing their biggest dreams and satisfying their deepest desires. But what will happen if the only way to truly give each other what they want most…is to let each other go?

J. Daniels Shares What’s In Her Beach Bag!

I’m a beach baby. Growing up on the East coast, I’ve always lived within two hours of the beach. Myrtle Beach, South Carolina was our summer vacation destination growing up. And now with my own little family, my husband and I enjoy making memories with our own children there. As a mom, my beach bag is loaded with essentials for me and for the little ones.

  • Mineral Sunscreen Lotion by Young Living – We’re a household of sensitive skin, so I try to keep everything we put on our bodies as chemical-free as possible. I discovered Young Living about a year ago and it has done wonders for my family! This mineral sunscreen is always in my bag. It has a high SPF (50), it applies easily without leaving streaks, AND it’s completely free of all the bad stuff.
  • Hydro Flask – I’m a former water bottle fanatic. And being someone who always has to keep a drink with them, it was getting ridiculous. Now, before I step out the door, I always fill my Hydro Flask up with ice and water and I’m good to go ALL DAY. Not only do these insulated water bottles keep your drinks cold for 24 hours (you’ll still have ice!) they come in super cute colors! I’m a hot pink girl.
  • Baseball cap – I have one of those big, floppy beach hats that has some adorable saying along the brim, but to be honest, I typically toss a baseball hat into my bag if I’m not already wearing one. And I’m always supporting my local team, the Baltimore Orioles. Go O’s!
  • Snacks – This seems pretty general, but that’s only because the snacks change depending on what my kids are in the mood for. I’ll keep granola bars handy for myself, and lately, my favorite has been Perfect Bars. These bars contain 20 super foods, they’re gluten free, and an excellent source of protein. I need something to keep me full until dinner, and these bars are filling. My favorite flavor is the Dark Chocolate Almond. Yum!
  • JBL Portable Speaker – Who doesn’t like listening to music while you’re at the beach? I love these little speakers. They have a long battery life and the sound quality is great. Bonus – they’re water resistant. This is a must with little ones.

BEACH BOOK PICKYou are a Badass by Jen Sincero. I’ve been getting into self-help books lately and this one is fabulous. I’ve already read it twice. It’s a book I can start and stop, which is essential when I’m keeping an eye on my kids.

#ForeverSummerReading: MORE THAN WORDS by Mia Sheridan

FOREVER ROMANCE is hosting a HUGE Summer Reading Event. This month, they are featuring Mia Sheridan, Debbie Mason, Jenny Holiday, and R.C. Ryan. I'm excited to read books by all of these authors, but I'm most excited to read MORE THAN WORDS by Mia Sheridan. I instantly fell in love with her book ARCHER'S VOICE and have wanted to read more by her.

About the book

No one lays open the heart and soul quite like New York Times bestselling author Mia Sheridan in this emotional love story about destiny, second chances, and the healing power of love.

The moment she met Callen Hayes, eleven-year-old Jessica Creswell knew he was a broken prince. Her prince. They became each other’s refuge, a safe and magical place far from their troubled lives. Until the day Callen kissed herJessica’s first real, dreamy kissand then disappeared from her life without a word.

Years later, everyone knows who Callen Hayes is. Famous composer. Infamous bad boy. What no one knows is that Callen’s music is now locked deep inside, trapped behind his own inner demons. It’s only when he withdraws to France to drink his way through the darkness that Callen stumbles into the one person who makes the music return. Jessica. His Jessie. And she still tastes of fresh, sweet innocence . . . even as she sets his blood on fire.

But they don’t belong in each other’s worlds anymore. There are too many mistakes. Too many secrets. Too many lies. All they have is that instinctive longing, that needand something that looks dangerously like love.

I can't think of a better way to get in more #SummerReading than with an audiobook. I listen to audiobooks on my commute to work, on evening walks, and I will definitely listen to them as I travel to my vacation destinations.
