I received these books:
Thank you Amanda and Mary!!

Because RAK is so fantastic, I am signing up again. Like I did last month, I am going to limit myself to sending out only 3 or 4 books. Some months I would go crazy and didn't budget that well, but I didn't have that feeling last month and I like that. Anyone can sign up. Just check out the details below.

In My Mailbox (60)

In My Mailbox is a weekly meme run by Kristi at The Story Siren which showcases the books that have been delivered to our mailbox or doorstep or directly into our hot little hands.

Purchased:

For Review:

Gifted:
Thank you Amanda!
Fangirl buttons from Laurie Boyle Crompton

This week, like pretty much every other week, I treated myself to some books. After reading The Disenchantments for the Southern Book Bloggers arc tours, I loved the book so much that I wanted to have my own copy. You can read my fangirlish review here. I became a fan of Jennifer Hubbard after reading The Secret Year and just had to get her latest, Try Not to Breathe, for my library.

I also received Amplified as a Random Act of Kindness from Amanda at Letters Inside Out. Amanda was so nice to pass along this ARC to me. Thank you! And author Laurie Crompton sent me some buttons for her upcoming novel Fangirl. I featured Fangirl a couple of weeks ago as my Waiting on Wednesday. It doesn't come out until August, but Laurie was willing to share these fun buttons with me now. Maybe I'll pass one along too.

For review, I received Vampire's Kiss from Penguin. This one just showed up. It is the second in the The Watchers series by Veronica Wolff. I've yet to read the first, Isle of Night - I don't even have it to read. If anyone knows about the series, please share your thoughts.

I didn't comment on IMMs last week because I went on vacation and had limited computer access, but thanks to everyone who stopped by and left a comment. I plan to check out a lot of IMMs this week. February is filled with some great new releases and I am interested to see what everyone got in their mailboxes!

In My Mailbox (52)

In My Mailbox is a weekly meme run by Kristi at The Story Siren which explores the books that have been delivered to our mailbox or doorstep or directly into our hot little hands.

For Review:

Borrowing Abby Grace by Kelly Green (e-book)

Gifted:
Sophie & Carter by Chelsea Fine (e-book)
Her and Me and You by Lauren Strasnick

The "No Book-Buying November" is still going on. Five days in and I'm staying strong. I did go to the bookstore twice in the past too days just to check out what's new on the shelves. So this week all of the books I received were gifted to me through Random Acts of Kindness or are for review.

I'd like to thank Penguin, Kelly Green and Backlit Fiction for the review books and Lisa, Alyssa, and Temara for the Random Acts of Kindness!

October RAK Wrap-Up

October went by so fast, too fast I must say. It was a great month for reading and receiving some wonderful Random Acts of Kindness. Thank you to all of the bloggers and readers who participate in this fun bookswapping, gift-giving program. I love being a part of this bookish community. I also want to thank Vanessa and Isalys of Books Soulmates for coordinating and hosting.

I received:

Thank you so much!!

The Girls of Baxter Academy (e-book) from Jenn at Waiting on Sunday to Drown
Amber at The Musings of ALMYBNENR - Faking It (e-book)
Rain Maiden Jen - Playing Hurt

**RAK UPDATE**

I received one more RAK after I posted this on Sunday. On Halloween, I came home to a treat and no tricks!! Alyssa @ The Reader's Refuge gave me

I sent:

Meghan Books and Tea - The Lovely Books* and The Notebook*
Jenny @ Mimosa Stimulus  - Dairy Queens
Rain Maiden Jen - Nick and Norah's Infinite Playlist and some gum (new not chewed, lol)
Alyssa @ The Reader's Refuge - My Sister's Keeper*
Jenn at Waiting on Sunday to Drown - Lucky* and The Witches of Santa Anna

I made an effort to not spend too much money on RAKs this month. I planned to send 3 (new) books out this month (trying to maintain a budget), but I had many of these books on my shelves* and wanted to pass them along. So I did buy only 3 books (Kindle "give as gift" makes it too easy), and that goal was met.

I didn't plan to sign up in next month since I declared it "No Book Buying November" but I am going to sign up in hopes that I can pass along more books that are already on my shelves.

I'd love to know what books you received as RAK. Please leave a comment and I will check them out.
