Waiting on Wednesday: Racing Savannah by Miranda Kenneally

"Waiting On" Wednesday is a weekly event, hosted by Jill at Breaking the Spine, that spotlights upcoming releases that we're eagerly anticipating.

This week's pre-publication "can't-wait-to-read" selection is:

Racing Savannah
by Miranda Kenneally
Publication Date: December 3, 2013
Published by Sourcebooks Fire

(from Goodreads)

Author of Catching Jordan, Miranda Kenneally’s Racing Savannah, about an underprivileged girl training to be a jockey while working in the barn at a high-stakes horse farm whose on-again, off-again relationship with the owner’s son has an upstairs/downstairs effect on race day.

Why I'm Waiting:

I was a little late to the game (or it felt that way, at least) with reading Catching Jordan and Stealing Parker and I just loved those stories and couldn't believe that I held on them for so long before I read them. I love how Miranda Kenneally's characters make appearances in the other Hundred Oaks books, but they are not part of a series. Companion novels are the best. I still have Things I Can't Forget to read, and then Racing Savannah!!

And just yesterday Miranda shared the first chapter on her blog.

  1. YES! Love Miranda Kenneally's books and I am looking forward to the fourth in her Hundred Oaks series too! You should pick up Things I Can't Forget soon, I think it's the best she's written yet:) GREAT pick, Joli!

Did you read the excerpt for Racing Savannah that Kenneally posted yesterday? Here's the link:)

    1. I do have it, I just haven't read it yet. I'm trying to catch up and only read review or book club books this month, BUT I will get to it asap!

And I did see the excerpt! I can't wait for all of it!

    1. thanks for the bloglovin follow. I was afraid I'd lose some followers when Google reader goes away.

If Racing Savannah is anything like her other books, we are in for a great time!

  3. I keep meaning to pick up her books. I love the covers (this one, especially, love those yellow boots!), but other books just keep getting in the way. This does look like a great read.

    1. I know exactly what you mean about other books "getting in the way" - that was what happened with me. But I finally decided to read them and I loved them so much that I would've read them sooner (even with all of the other books).

  4. Well how awesome are you for giving us the first chapter! I've read a lot of reviews of Things I Can't Forget, all good. I haven't read my copy of Catching Jordan yet. I know you won't be surprised. You'll be disgusted when you see my bookshelves now. Can't wait to see you in a few months! Don't forget your books you want signed! Pack those first!
    LOL
